That Lady's bookshelf: read
This has mediocre ratings but I am gonna give it a try while I wait for my friend to pick up a book we will read together!
This was a very detailed and descriptive book. It was a very cognitive read for me and took me longer to get through than most books do. I was impressed by the fact that it was written so long ago yet so relevant to today.
I really enjoyed this book in the beginning. The last quarter of the book seemed a bit rushed to me, as if Patterson just wanted to finish writing it. I was disappointed by that. Also, Cross's narratives became repetitive and a series of pe...
This book makes everyone who lives in the ghetto look like an immoral sociopath. I HATED it.
I didn't know what to expect, but this book turned out to be a very classic tale about right and wrong, good versus evil. I enjoyed it very much. The story line draws you in and it's a very quick read.
I did like this book. However, I found it much less relevant than I would have perhaps 15 yrs ago. I found myself found of Holden. But I looked at his as a confused kid that I could no longer connect with. I can appreciate Salinger's approa...
My desire for mystery & suspence was met with this book. I was torn on the amount of stars to give only because, I found several of the contexts to be not quite believable. I felt there was just a bit too much luck involved when characters ...
It's got good ratings so I'm hoping for more of the same with the story line.
I was upset by the events in volume 7. But, the plot managed to move forward. I can't wait to read volume 9.
Mystery meets cheesey romance. One of m favorite genres. The plot was not exactly deep, but the characters were endearing. Factor in Corben's age when he wrote this (in his 20's) , and I opted for a generous 4 star rating over 3 stars. Its ...
Angels & Demons is excellent! Suspense thrillers are by and large my favorite genre of book. I guess I liked it so much because it was a very cognitive read for me. The debate between religion and science was well laid out. Additionally, I ...
A local college is focusing on this book. I want to read and perhaps participate in some of the discussions. I hope it's good. It seems to be a surprising change of pace for Doug Peterson. I'm Not sure what to expect!
I call this book a soap opera mixed with a fairytale on crack...and opium...and heroine. This is only my second attempt to read literature rooted in Latin culture. The first being Like Water for Chocolate. I noticed that both books were a m...
I really enjoy the Deathnote series. This was my least favorite book to date. I was diappointed that the author chose to introduce coincidence as a means of pulling the plot together. In a book that is based on the premise of spirituality, ...
